Bells ISD passed a bond election!

On May 6, 2023, Bells ISD community voted on the district’s $25,655,000 bond package.

 Why did Bells call a bond?

  • AGING FACILITIES

    Renovations to PJH will help support the age of the facility. In addition, the concern of the Bells ISD fieldhouse will be addressed by building a new facility for students.

  • SAFETY & SECURITY

    This bond will address the safety and security concerns with the BES parking and traffic flow. Renovations to PJH will also aid in increasing safety for students and teachers.

  • PREPARE FOR GROWTH

    Bells ISD is experiencing growth from surrounding communities. Since 2015, Bells ISD enrollment has increased by 25%. In Fall 2022, Bells ISD saw a 7.5% increase in enrollment district-wide.

What was included in this bond?

PROPOSITION A - $24,755,000

  • Classroom Additions and Renovations to Pritchard Junior High

  • Additional classrooms at Bells High School

  • New Fieldhouse that will be utilized for all athletics and include:

    • CPR / AED training

    • Sports Medicine classes

    • EMT classes 

    • Other CTE classes

    • Weight training

    • Locker rooms

    • Bathrooms

    • Athletic training room

  • Additional parking & traffic flow improvements at Bells Elementary School

PROPOSITION B - $900,000

  • Tennis Courts

How will this affect my taxes?

With the passage of the bond, your tax rate will be impacted by 6.55 cents.
